So proud of Beth Halsne and Christine Lew, two incredible women and students with whom I have had the pleasure of working with on their dissertation/thesis projects over the past year. Each was selected as part of the 2021 #Husky100 for their outstanding contributions to the UW community in areas of prosthetic and powered mobility technology and user experience, disability justice, and advocacy!

Beth has just completed her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences with a focus on prosthetic foot prescription and test-driving strategies and was also the winner of the UW 3-minute thesis competition, and selected as an Outstanding Woman in Engineering by the UW Society of Women Engineers. We are so proud of all of your accomplishments Beth, and know you will do great things!

Christine is a double major in Disability Studies and Psychology and the Director of the ASUW Student Disability Commission. She is dedicated to disability justice, and has recently completed an honors thesis project investigating the concept of Disability Gain. We are so proud of you Christine, and know you are off to do great things, but hopefully you’ll be back soon enough for your PhD :-).

Beth Halsne and Christine Lew named to Husky 100!
